What an amazing show! Mayer Hawthorne doesn't have one bad song in his repertoire (covers of Hall & Oates included - you most certainly make
my dreams come true, Mr. Hawthorne). Mayer is a natural performer with fantastic stage presence who knows how to connect with his audience, and his bouncy joy is infectious. Let's not over look his fine fashion sense (love that bow-tie and those kicks!), and he also has a thing or two to teach us about how to drink water stylishly - just don't forget your Henney & ginger ale chaser!
While I highly recommend seeing Mayer live if you get the chance, you can also pick up his two excellent albums, and check out his episode of
Live from Daryl's House, featuring mind blowing versions of "You Make My Dreams" and "Private Eyes," as well as one of my Hawthorne faves, "No Strings."
