Essential Vermeer
I discovered this website at some point while still at TCU. I've had it bookmarked ever since. It contains such a wealth of information. My favorite part of the website is the complete Vermeer catalog, which helps me plan my travels around what paintings I still have yet to view.
I am especially excited that the Vermeer formerly owned by Steve Wynn is currently on display at the Met -- such an excellent and fortuitous opportunity!
Next up will be the Vermeer in Vienna, and then one of these days I have to do a Vermeer tour of Germany to wrap it all up. And there is still the one in England that was supposed to be at Windsor Castle, but had been moved to Buckingham palace at the time of my visit to Windsor.
There are currently about 9 Vermeers I haven't seen, not including the one stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum.
