March Recap

Artists of the Month
- The Courteeners: Fantastic live! Haven't actually listened to their CD yet, but I am wicked hooked.
- Glasvegas: This month's show proved that they are a great band. They may take themselves more seriously than most bands out there, they may be a little taciturn in their presentation, but they make great music and put on a hell of a show. "Go Square Go" makes it all worth it.
- Calvin Harris: amazing DJ night at Webster Hall. The man does not disappoint.

Books
- The Unbearable Lightness of Being,
Milan Kundera: A beautiful touching book with themes that transcend time and place. I flew through this one, egged on by the luminous prose.
- Under the Net,
Iris Murdoch: Similar in tone to Patrick Hamilton. A comedy of errors and human fallibility in a London of simpler times.
- The Time Traveller's Wife, Audrey Niffenegger. Time travel is one of my favorite themes (see obsessions with Life on Mars and Quantum Leap), and this book portrayed the mysteries of time travel beautifully. The characters are richly drawn, and the puzzles of overlapping pasts and futures drew me in so deeply, I didn't want it to end.
